remodel

We've been wanting to make some changes to our home since we moved in (over two years ago). We had some trouble finding anyone willing to do it for a reasonable price as it was a fairly small job. Zach suggested that he could be our contractor and make it happen. What was really interesting is that we had a small flood in our laundry room (in October) that damaged a very small portion of our hardwood... Long story short: our insurance covered all new hardwood for the entire house. Zach hired his brother Zeke to come down from Ogden to do the floors and also design other elements of our remodel.

Demolition started the Monday after Thanksgiving. We turned the wet bar (an area that was mostly used for storage) into a walk-in pantry:

Our former pantry (across from washer and dryer), became a mudroom area for backpacks, shoes and jackets:

Zeke used our old flooring to create design on the wall:

 Our front "dining room" was closed in (both sides) to make a media/music room. Rob has been so anxious to get a dedicated place where he can work on music.

 

Again, old flooring was used on this wall for a cool look. Rob found these cabinets online for way cheep, and we got this countertop at Ikea.


We bought a huge leather sectional for the other side of the room (not pictured because I accidentally deleted the photo. I guess you'll have to come check it out in person).

And finally, my favorite is the barn door that Zeke built!
