Truman's very favorite book is "Your Baby's First Word Will Be Dada" by Jimmy Fallon. He calls it "Dada Moo" and can read it over and over. He is starting to try to make different animal sounds. The cutest is that he will 'sniff' in and out on the bunny page.
One of his favorite things is helping with the laundry. I love how focused my hard little worker is:

Tosh earned his "Wolf" award and has been looking forward to "Wolfing it down" for years! They put the award in a baggie under a bunch of whipped cream and have the boys dig to find it with their mouths.

Tosh and Liv's school celebrates Grandparent's Day every year with different activities. Since we don't have local grandparents, Liv thought it would be a great idea to invite Fred Lybbert to go! She was so cute about it and said, "Well he is my (distant) cousin and he is a grandpa!" Fred was excited to go and not only visited both Liv and Tosh in their classrooms, but then stayed to eat lunch in the cafeteria with them and texted me some selfies. Fred is the best!
In the middle of August our family was given a special assignment from our stake presidency. But first a little background...(I wrote the following on August 17th):
In June when we visited Alisa in New York, her Bishop was released from their Harlem ward as their family was moving to Brooklyn. The stake president talked about how needed and welcomed their family would be in Brooklyn. Something about the entire thing left quite an impression on Rob and me, and we've been discussing since then if we are living where the Lord really needs us and wants us to be (and have joked about/discussed moving).
We were asked to meet with a member of the high council at the beginning of the month (had no idea why; I thought we were going to be asked to help with the Pioneer Trek). Last night we met with the stake presidency and our family was asked to accept a call to serve in the San Tan Branch. The San Tan branch (formerly part of the East Stake) has around 170 Native American members with about 40 that are active. Different families from the stake are assigned to serve and attend the branch for about a three year period! Our church records will move from our home ward to the branch. He said that they call couples that can jump in and fill any leadership assignment. Our family will have one more Sunday in our current ward, then stake conference, and we will begin attending the San Tan Branch at the beginning of September.
Rob and I feel that this call is really an answer to our prayers; the Lord has certainly been preparing my mind and heart over the last couple of months. We are having a family council tonight to talk to our kids about the assignment. I think our older boys may respond more willingly than our younger kids, but this will be a big change for all of them (leaving their friends and current quorums and classes). My first concern was the scouting program, but after looking over the branch directory last night, I'm feeling better that they have a Scout Master (and assistant) called. The entire branch gathers on Wednesday night at 6pm for YM/YW, cub scouts, activity days, and other activities and that sounds really awesome to me.
I feel confident that although this assignment may be a real challenge at times, it is a call from the Lord and will be a big blessing to our family. It will strengthen us as a family and help prepare our children to serve missions. This call is also a reminder that the Lord knows us personally and understands the desires of our hearts.
